LOUDERMILK HOMES NAMED A FINALIST FOR CUSTOM HOME BUILDER OF THE YEAR

We’re incredibly honored that the National Association of Home Builders has selected Loudermilk Homes as a finalist for Custom Builder of the Year.

The NAHB’s Custom Home Builders Committee chose Loudermilk Homes as one of three finalists for the national award, which recognizes the contributions and leadership of the top builders in the nation during the International Builders’ Show that was held in Las Vegas this year.

Loudermilk and his wife and business partner Roane Loudermilk founded Loudermilk Homes in Atlanta in 2009, and the company has since expanded throughout metro Atlanta and North Carolina as it became recognized as one of the leading luxury custom design and build firms in the region.

“Being named a finalist for Custom Builder of the Year is an incredible honor for our entire team at Loudermilk Homes, and it’s a testament to the hard work, disciplined processes, attention to detail, and custom craftsmanship that we bring to every home we design and build,” said Sherwin Loudermilk, Founder and President of Loudermilk Homes.

Loudermilk Homes delivers about 15 homes per year, and has another 30 to 40 homes in various stages of planning at any given time. The company has several active development projects including The Manor Golf & Country Club, Homestead Estates and Von Lake Estates just north of Atlanta; and Saratay Falls, Bear Mor, Cedar Hill, High Hampton and Lonesome Valley in Cashiers/Highlands, North Carolina. Loudermilk Homes also builds custom homes in exclusive intown neighborhoods like Buckhead and Sandy Springs and older more established neighborhoods like Atlanta Country Club.

Known for modern as well as classic design trends, Loudermilk Homes uses state-of-the-art smart home technology, top-of-the-line materials, open layouts that create a sense of grandeur, and in-house architectural design services for faster revisions that prevent delays. Design professionals at its sister company Loudermilk Designs, which was founded by President Roane Loudermilk, work with each client to make selections on finishes and materials that reflect each homeowner’s unique aesthetic preferences.

Loudermilk Homes created a 9-Step “Process to Perfection” to guide clients through the entire design and construction process to minimize stress and make the journey more enjoyable. The company offers each client access to its Loudermilk Connect project management portal powered by Buildertrend for complete transparency on schedule and budget, along with daily work logs, photos, a live 24/7 video stream, an ability to approve change orders from any touch screen device, and an archive of all selections that were chosen prior to groundbreaking.

Loudermilk Homes follows a detailed and regimented pre-construction process that establishes specific decision-forcing mechanisms and project milestones that must be completed before a project can advance. For example, homeowners are guided to make all selections before the company breaks ground, similar to a commercial project, which mitigates global supply chain delays and shortages.

For several years, Sherwin Loudermilk has been an active leader and participant in an NAHB Builder 20 peer learning group called “The Doors.” During regular meetings and informal conversations throughout the year, these business owners from some of the top builders across the country share ideas and best practices, provide constructive feedback, review financials and operations, and challenge each other to improve the way they run their professional and personal lives.

“Loudermilk Homes wouldn’t be where it is today without the support, encouragement, thought leadership, and candid feedback from every member of our NAHB Builder 20 Group,” Loudermilk said. “The way we challenge and push each other to do our best work is invaluable, and I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to each of them.”

Loudermilk Homes is deeply involved in supporting the local communities where it operates. The company is an active member of the Atlanta CBUSA chapter and the Chamber of Commerce in Cashiers, NC, and gives to Noor charity to support refugees displaced by geopolitical unrest so they can rebuild their lives. As part of its “Employee of the Quarter” recognition program, Loudermilk Homes makes a donation to a charity of the employee’s choice, and recent recipients include Northside Hospital Foundation, Atlanta Humane Society, Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad, and the American Red Cross.

“We are humbled and grateful to be chosen as a finalist for Custom Builder of the Year, and this honor is a credit to every member of the Loudermilk Homes and Loudermilk Designs family,” Loudermilk said.
