Loudermilk Homes Celebrates 15 Years!
It’s an exciting time for Loudermilk Homes as we celebrate our 15-year anniversary and take a look back on how much our company has grown and all that we’ve achieved over the past decade and a half.
We started our predecessor company, Radius Properties, in August of 2009.
At the time, my wife Roane and I had a modest vision of building quality homes in metro Atlanta, and we knew we wanted to create a better experience and a better product than production builders. We joked that we would never build the same home twice, because we wanted every home to be customized to the family’s exact needs and lifestyle.
We changed the name to Loudermilk Homes a few years later, and we began designing and building homes that were larger and more grand.
In those early years, we put a lot of thought and planning into our processes and culture.
We created detailed pre-construction checklists and a 9-Step Process to Perfection to help clients understand the various phases of custom luxury design and construction. We became more rigorous and selective in our interviewing and hiring. We created Loudermilk University to share our knowledge with each other, learn the best techniques and methods from our trade partners, and become lifelong learners. We developed an internal mentoring program, and each year we spend a full day talking about our culture and values.
As Loudermilk Homes grew and became more sophisticated, we added new technology platforms such as Buildertrend — which we call Loudermilk Connect — to manage our entire company, archive architecture and selection, create purchase orders and pay invoices, and manage our schedules and budgets.
We introduced a new logo and branding, and opened up a new division in Cashiers, NC where we build second homes for many clients and primary homes for others.
We began developing and building modern Tudor-style homes at Blue Heron Walk, a luxury pocket neighborhood in the heart of Buckhead.
We were selected as the preferred builder of The Homestead at Milton, an exclusive community of just 30 estate-sized homes being developed on 180 acres at the former site of The Trophy Club of Atlanta golf course.
More recently, Loudermilk Homes was chosen as the preferred builder for The Enclave at Trilith, a gated community south of Atlanta that caters to movie and production executives, actors, and related professionals.
Over the years, Loudermilk Homes has been honored to win numerous awards, including being named a finalist for Custom Home Builder of the Year twice by the National Association of Home Builders; numerous OBIE Awards by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association; and other news articles and accolades that recognize our success.
While we are celebrating this milestone of 15 years in business, we are also looking ahead to the next 15 years as we invest in our people and our processes to ensure that Loudermilk Homes continues to thrive.
One thing is certain: As the best custom home builder in Atlanta and Cashiers, NC, Loudermilk Homes has never built the same home twice. And we probably never will.
