Sherwin's Blog: Clearing Trees at Saratay Falls

Our crews have been hard at work clearing out a few trees to make way for a new road at the Saratay Falls luxury home community we’re designing and building in Cashiers, North Carolina.

When you clear trees, it’s important to pull them out with the root ball intact so it’s easier to clear the fallen trees, compact the soil and prepare the road bed.

Check out this short video that shows the tree clearing in action.

And naturally, we are clearing the fewest number of trees possible so we can preserve the natural beauty and old-growth forest of the beautiful mountain plateau. The trees and 40-foot natural waterfall are an important habitat for a diverse animal and plant ecosystem.
