How to Organize Closet
Don't forget to reorganize and tidy your closet space as part of your spring cleaning.
To properly and thoroughly organize your closet, start by emptying everything and turning a critical eye to how you're using the space. Adjust shelves, the height of hangar bars, find the right the number and size of baskets to accommodate your current wardrobe. Get rid of plastic hangars or broken hangars, and use wooden hangars or non-slip velvet hangers for a more polished look.
Sort everything into three piles: keep, donate and throw away.
Organize clothes by height and color. Place tall items such as dresses, pants and suits on one side, while shorter items such as shirts should be grouped together.
Store shoes in a drawer or on a shoe rack, or use labeled boxes or bins. Accessories such as ties, scarves and belts should be hung on a special hangar, or curled up and stored away in drawers.
